Jack's Rake is a classic Lake District grade 1 scramble. It's also one of my favourite days out when put together with a dip in Stickle Tarn...

Starting at 6am in the carpark, the forecast was for clouds to clear about the time I'd be approaching Jack's Rake, at the top of the Stickle Gyll climb. Sure enough, the sun came out and after eating breakfast by the tarn I made my way up. Progress was pretty quick, and the views over Langdale and over to Coniston and Windermere superb. On the way down, I couldn't resist a dip in Stickle Tarn, just as the first walkers of the day passed by :-).
Jack's Rake is a rewarding but tricky route and should only be attempted by experienced scramblers in good conditions. If you'd like to be guided up, or just want to chat it through, then please get in touch!
