"Smashing-it" in Scotland!

In September, I assisted a group of 20 individuals who united to hike up Ben Nevis and raise money in memory of our friend and colleague, Marty Stephens. The event, "Marty's Smash-It challenge," was fittingly named to honor Marty's zest for life and positive spirit. This was the third challenge in the series, following previous adventures in the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales.

The weather was quite difficult, to put it mildly! After reviewing the weather forecast two days prior, any idea of taking on the CMD was dismissed... with gusts of 40-50mph and low visibility, it was best saved for another time! Nonetheless, the challenge was significant enough, as we got soaked while leaving the campsite.
It was an excellent day. Sharing time in the mountains can strengthen the genuine connections within the group that gathers annually to honour Marty, and there's no better way to do this than by climbing the tallest mountain in the UK, which he cherished.
